I really enjoyed your presentation. It was very informative, and put together. It was very interesting that there are comorbid conditions that cause alzheimers like diabetes, stroke, and coronary artery disease. I did not realize that alzheimer’s disease makes up two-thirds of the population of women. Great job on this project!

I really enjoyed this presentation! Having had relatives who suffered with Alzheimer’s, I am very familiar with memory care facilities such as the one discussed in this presentation. You all did a wonderful job at explaining this population and their unique set of needs, and also the very specific difficulties that also come along with this population. I think it is important that this presentation included the challenges that the staff and caretakers at this facility may also struggle with such as burn out or caring for combative and aggressive patients. I found it so wonderful that the Sam L. Cohen Center has so many resources for families and caregivers, and they clearly recognize that caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s is extremely difficult. It is so exciting to hear that this facility will be expanding into new locations, as there is truly such a need in the community. Awesome job!

This presentation was very well put together! There were some interesting facts such as women making up more than half the population simply because they live longer. Nicole sounded like a fantastic person to interview and seems like she deeply cares for this population. There is such a need for adult day programs like this one and I am happy to hear they are expanding. Good job!!

  4. Great work with this presentation! This presentation is eye opening and very informative in regards to the policies that have been implemented to provide better, safer care to this population. I also enjoyed the formatting of the presentation as it is professional as well as organized. I thought it was awesome that you got to interview a social worker and I enjoyed reading/listening to her insights. Caring for this population is most definitely challenging when they are faced with comorbidities, lack of care and especially when there is a lack of access to care. Thank you all so much for sharing, you all did a wonderful job, and I enjoyed listening.

You guys did a great job with this presentation! It was well organized and very informative. I thought it was interesting that conditions like diabetes increased a person’s risk for developing Alzheimer’s. I’m glad to hear that there are so many resources available for this population. This center is doing great work for both Alzheimer’s patients and their caregivers, and it’s awesome that programs like this one are expanding! Thanks for sharing!

Your presentation was very good and very informative! Alzheimer’s has a big impact on both the patients’ and families’ lives, so it was good to hear about what types of resources are available. The Sam L. Cohen Center seems to be an amazing program for patients and their families. It was also interesting to hear about what risk factors for getting this disease and how having Alzheimer’s can affect the course of other illnesses a person might have.
